Who is Yue Lao?

Yue Lao is the Chinese deity who brings couples together and builds harmonious relationship in marriages. This God of Matchmaking and Marriage is also known as the “old man of the moonlight”.

The Legend of Yue Lao

Originated from the Tang Dynasty, the story of Yue Lao begins with an account of a young man named Wei Gu. One night, he encountered an old man with a bagful of red strings, reading under the moonlight. Piqued by what he saw, Wei Gu went up to him and asked about the book and the red strings. The old man explained that he was consulting the Book of Marriage, and when he tied a red string to the foot of a man and a woman, they would be bound as husband and wife.

Being doubtful, Wei Gu challenged the old man to predict who his future wife would be. The old man pointed to a blind woman with a three-year-old girl and said, "This little girl will be your future wife." Humiliated, Wei Gu flew into a rage and ordered his servant to stab the little girl. Fortunately, she escaped with only an injury.

Years later, Wei Gu was betrothed to the daughter of a high official. On the wedding night, he was pleased to see that he married a young and beautiful woman, but he noticed a scar on her body. When Wei Gu asked about it, she told him that she was stabbed by a servant fourteen years before.

Since then, the legend of Yue Lao has begun to spread, and so has the practice of praying to Yue Lao.

In designing the God of Matchmaking and Marriage jadeite, Master David Goh reviewed ancient literature and the deity's history to create a strong and elegant manifestation of Yue Lao. With Yue Lao holding two hearts connected by a red string, it symbolises everlasting love and a deep, harmonious relationship.

The red string is symbolic of a Chinese idiom 千里姻缘一线牵, which can be loosely translated as "a fated match across a thousand miles drawn by a thread". It means that two persons are destined to marry each other even though they are a thousand miles apart.

For singles, Yue Lao uses the red string to look for their fated match, and subsequently, a lasting and blissful marriage. The red string helps them find their destined love sooner and cuts down the time spent on unfruitful relationships.

For couples, Yue Lao uses the red string to help them and their partner stay faithful and in love, in both good and challenging times. It also prevents third parties from intervening in the marriage.

Direct Wealth God Tua Pek Gong 福德正神大伯公

Legend

Tua Pek Gong is otherwise known as 福德正神 (Fu De Zheng Shen). According to legend, Zhang Fu De was a top government official in Zhou Dynasty in charge of taxation, holding similar position like the Commissioner of Inland Revenue in Singapore.

Despite the flagrant and widespread corruption in Zhou Dynasty, Zhang Fu De 张福德was one of the rare righteous and honourable government officials. His courage and faith to pursue his ambitions and vision for the country against all odds earned national-wide praise and recognition. When he passed on at the age of 102, his body continued to radiate healthy pink glow to the amazement of countrymen who came to attend his 3 day wake - a miracle that convinced the countrymen that he has promoted to the Celestial realm.

In view of the righteous and honourable contributions to the nation, the Jade Emperor later bestowed upon the title of Direct Wealth God Tua Pek Gong 福德正神大伯公 within the Celestial Pantheon, where he is in charge of direct wealth 正财 in the human realm. Introduction to Spatial Fengshui

After we improve our client’s personal luck (personal fengshui), we work with our clients on their spatial fengshui to help our clients to achieve continuous and massive breakthroughs and scale different peaks in lives.

There are two school of thoughts that underpin the assessment of office, residential, shop houses, factories or burial grounds fengshui.

1.Form school: Physical surrounding

2.Compass school: Abstract energies

Physical surrounding refers to the landscape, building, roads, water canals and etc.

Abstract forces are related to time, space, directions and five elements.

The ground breaking discovery of these forces (otherwise known as flying stars) allows us to forecast the arrival and departure of good or bad fengshui influences in a predictable manner.

The building bricks of the Flying Stars in fengshui are namely the concept of Yin and Yang, five elements, iChing trigrams, concept of time as well as Lo Shu and Ho To diagrams.

There are two essential information to obtain in the drawing

1.Age of the building

The age of the building is determined by the time of occupancy. If the building is completed in 2003 but it is occupied only after February 2004, it is considered as Age of 8 and not age of 7.

2.The facing direction of the building

To identify the facing direction of the building, we need to identify the main entrance and the Ming Tang (Open Space). The direction is measured in the measurement system of 24 mountains (24 sectors of 15 degrees), an important invention of Master Yang Yun Sung of the Tang Dynasty.

Assessment of Spatial Fengshui

The Flying Star Chart can be referred as the energy map of the office, residence, shop house or factory. There are two types of stars namely the mountain star and water star. The mountain star refers to relationship harmony, benefactors, power and status. The water star refers to wealth.

In an ideal home, the prosperous mountain stars 8, 9 and 1 should ideally reside in the bedrooms (quiet and enclosed space) and the prosperous water stars 8, 9 and 1 should reside in the living room, study room and entrance (active area).

In our assessment of our client’s home, office, shop house and factory, we will evaluate the merits and drawbacks of each specific area.

We will also pay attention to the yearly and monthly influences of the flying stars to determine the impact on the original Flying Star chart of the house.

Application of Jadeite in Personal Fengshui – restoring the balance of five elements

Natural Type “A” Jadeite has many vibrant colours ranging from green, blue, black, white, lavender, yellow and red. Jadeite has been traditionally used by Chinese Emperors in achieving balance and harmony of the Five Elements in their destiny chart. Upon achieving the balance and harmony of five elements by wearing our carefully prescribed jadeite, it brings balance and harmony to our client’s destiny chart and empower them to achieve success in lives.

Introduction

Four Pillars of Destiny is a logical forecasting system that uses the concept of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements.

Four pillars of destiny is also known Tzu Ping, named after Tzu Ping who pioneered the revolutionary forecasting system in Song Dynasty. Prior to Song dynasty, the Chinese forecasting system focused on the year of birth and fortune tellers  forecast a person's life based on the year of birth. This unreliable & inconsistent practice lasted until song dynasty when Tzu Ping introduced the system of forecasting and placed the focus on the day of birth where the day of birth represents the person himself. The day of birth is called as the day master and forms the centre of the analysis.

The concept of Yin and Yang and the five elements form the foundation of Four Pillars of Destiny.

Yin and Yang is represented by the Tai Chi symbol – reflecting two sides in everything in the universe.

Five elements are Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth, which form the basic component of all maters in the world. It forms the framework and mechanism that governs the daily happenings in our lives.

Destiny Analysis

Upon the conversion of a person’s birth data from Western calendar to the Chinese Hsia calendar, we utilise it to understand the character strengths & weaknesses, potential career/business direction, relationship with family members, health and luck cycle.

The first step in our destiny analysis is to establish the lifetime favourable & unfavourable elements. It involves deciding if a person’s self-element/day master is weak, extremely weak, strong or extremely strong. The principles of achieving good luck is to achieve balance and harmony among the five elements in our destiny chart. Hence in our free destiny consultation, our consultants will determine the lifetime favourable and unfavourable elements, auspicious colours and inauspicious colours before moving on to prescribing the exact cure.
