The Seventh month of the Lunar calendar is often known as "Hungry Ghost Month". An annual Chinese tradition, this is known as the time where spirits return from the afterlife. 

Hungry Ghost Month is traditionally perceived to be inauspicious because of the urban myths associated with it.

The genuine rationale behind the celebration of the event is to honour one of the greatest virtues of humanity - heart of gratitude and at the same time, championing the generosity.

Myth number 1

There are no auspicious dates for renovation, move in or even wedding

The logic behind selection of auspicious dates for activities like wedding or renovation is to ensure smoothness of event. The truth is there are many auspicious dates in a month.
